Loosen Tight Hamstrings in 3 Minutes with This Simple Stretch
Do you struggle to “bend over and touch your toes easily” due to tight hamstrings? This common issue can cause pain and limit mobility, but it’s easy to address.
This simple 3 minute stretch can “loosen those hamstrings up” if done daily. Do it “right before you're going to sleep or first thing when you wake up.” Have a towel handy to assist the stretch.
Here’s how to do it:
“Place the towel over the ball of the foot, not the arch.” Keep your leg straight and “extend your leg up until you feel a nice stretch in your hamstring.” Don’t overdo it. Go to about “85 or 90 percent” of your maximum stretch.
Hold the stretch there. Now focus on “breathing and relaxing.” As you inhale, “tense your core and grip.” As you exhale, “relax all of the muscles” and visualize your hamstring lengthening.
Important: “Pull the toes towards your nose.” This engages your calf too for an entire posterior chain stretch. Breathe and extend further with each exhale.
After 90 seconds per side, switch legs and repeat. Stay consistent “for at least a couple weeks.” Over time, you’ll gain flexibility and be amazed at how much farther you can reach.
Dedicate 3 minutes daily to this hamstring stretch, and your tight muscles will soon loosen up. You’ll bend easier and feel better overall. Tackle tight hamstrings now!
