Loosen Up Tight Hips in Just 2 Minutes With This Move
Do your hips feel tight? We're here to help! Doing this one simple move for 2 minutes a day can "dramatically loosen up your hips."
Usually people stretch their hamstrings or thigh muscles when their hips feel tight. But it's just as important to stretch your hip's "internal rotation" and "external rotation." This means twisting your thigh bone inward and outward.
Opening up these motions will "make your hips feel looser and significantly better." Your lower back will feel better too. It also helps protect your knees and ankles from injury.
Here is Tyler's hip loosening move:
First, put your hands behind your back. Stick one leg straight out with a 90 degree knee bend. Bend the other knee back at 90 degrees too.
Keep your chest lifted and shoulders back. Don't hunch over.
Then, "rotate your whole body from one direction all the way through to the other side." Go slowly and controlled.
As you switch sides, try to stay upright. You can "imagine bringing your chest towards the front bent knee" to open your hips more.
Do this for 2 minutes every day. Over time, you'll get more range of motion in your hip rotation. Your hips will feel great and you'll prevent injuries!
